Echo Lodge Fort Qu'Appelle Flooring

SHA seeks Bids from qualified contractors to perform the following work:
At the Echo Lodge, in Fort Qu'Appelle, the flooring throughout the building is original construction and is past it useful life. All flooring throughout the building needs to be replaced (though budget may be limiting, a breakdown of sections will be requested as part of bid), many cracked and stained areas.
General Information:
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking proposals for the following work; the scope of the services includes, but are not limited to:
• Attend Mandatory Pre-Bid Site Visit
• Before tendering, the General contractor and all subcontractors whose work may be affected by the physical properties of the site, shall make an inspection, take all necessary levels, dimensions, and fully satisfy themselves of all existing conditions affecting the operations. Failure to make such an inspection shall not relieve the contractor or subcontractor of responsibility. Provide current lead times for ordering materials within project proposal.

• Removal and disposal of old flooring.
• Supply and install new flooring. Coordination with SHA in establishing a schedule will be required as the flooring will be located in resident rooms and the common areas.
• Contractor shall communicate with the owner to coordinate construction with building functions. Work must be staged to have a minimal impact on building occupants.
• Repair drywall/paint walls necessary to return all spaces back to working and clean condition.
• Contractor shall do cutting, patching and making good for any part of the work executed by him/her and shall cause each subcontractor to do all cutting, fitting and patching of their respective portions of the work as may be required to make the several parts thereof join and co-ordinate in a satisfactory manner.

• Damage from whatever cause occasioned by the operation of the contract, shall be made good without additional charge.

• Flooring to be monolithic, easily cleanable (and compatible with the cleaners SHA uses), slip resistant as appropriate for the area it’s in, and installed with an integral coved base at walls.
• Provide secure contractors’ materials area and work amenities. Fencing and portable washrooms/other amenities to be the responsibility of the contractor.
• Daily and final site cleanup is up to the contractor, if a garbage bin is needed they are to supply.
• Infection Prevention and Control measures as per proposed plan to be included in contractor’s costs. Hoarding is required between ongoing work and interior space.
