The Learning & Development (L&D) Branch for the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) is seeking training that supports the topics outlined below:

- Introduction to neurodevelopmental pathways with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other diagnostic categories included within the neurodiverse community (i.e. FASD, ADHD, Intellectual Development Disorder, etc.)
- Identify the anxiety disorders most common with ASD (i.e. GAD, Social Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobia, OCD, Separation Anxiety Disorder) and how they may present differently in children and youth with ASD.
- Identify strategies to assess mental health symptoms in the context of neurodiversity.
- Specific treatment strategies to support neurodiverse children and youth with anxiety, to help optimize the functioning of the child/youth to be more successful in their relationships and daily life, including but not limited to:
- Adapting the core principles of CBT to support neurodiverse children and youth.
- Includes progress monitoring
- Facilitating engagement in opportunities to increase social skills
- Providing relevant psychoeducation to child/youth/caregiver about features of neurodiversity and how that interacts with mental health treatment.
- Teaching strategies for child/youth/caregivers to support a young person to engage with treatment, with the additional aim of reducing the number of parental accommodations made to work around their child/youth’s anxiety.
- Supporting children/youth/caregivers to develop an ongoing plan to self-support with the goal of improvement in functioning and reduction of symptoms.
- Adapting the core principles of CBT to support neurodiverse children and youth.

- 1. The posting on BC Bid says the RFP closes on December 12, 2022, and the date on the PDF is December 8, 2022. Can you please confirm which is the closing date?
Ans. Closing date is December 12, 2022 @ 2:00 PM - 2. The RFP notes MCFD’s Learning Management System (LMS). What platform does MCFD use, and is this where any online self-directed training portions would be mounted?
Ans. MCFD will provide the LMS. So we have the LMS we can host the training through, and MCFD will manage this and notify the vendors. - 3. There is no specific number of hours of training for individuals noted. Is this at the discretion of the vendor?
Ans. This is at the discretion of the vendor.
