Description
The proposed BC Timber Sales Silviculture Survey Contract, located within the Merritt and Lillooet TSAs, will collect data for Free Growing and Regeneration surveys. The project covers an estimated 1960 hectares and consists of an estimated 2005 survey plots with an allowance for up to 90 Multi-layered and 90 GreenUp/WTRAplots. As well, the project includes assessment of forest health, brush competition and plantability and will provide recommendations for future site treatment options. The contract will require Qualified Professionals and accredited Silviculture Surveyors to complete the work and includes the uploading of data into BC Timber Sales LRM program.

Deadline for receiving questions is 4:00 pm on June 19, 2023. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by June 20, 2023 at 4:00 pm.
Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package.
The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations. These documents are posted on our external EMS/SFM website at BC Timber Sales - Business Area Environmental Management System (EMS) and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) - Province of British Columbia (https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/forestry/bc-timber-sales/forest-certification/ems-sfm). More information on SFI available at www.forests.org.
As a condition of finalizing any service contracts with the Province, including service contracts arising from procurement processes, those contracts will require that all contractors and their personnel and any subcontractors and their personnel who will access BC government workplaces be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Canada, subject to any authorized exemptions. Such contracts will contain associated provisions required by and satisfactory to the Province regarding the foregoing, which may include provisions regarding mitigation measures for exempt personnel, compliance, enforcement, and the use of an attestation certifying compliance or presentation of a BC Vaccine Card by personnel.
Unverified bid results will be posted to BC Bid after tender opening and once awarded the contract award results will be available on BC Bid.
