Sealed tenders for the following Silviculture Surveys Contract will be received by the Timber Sales Manager, BC Timber Sales, Chinook Business Area, 46360 Airport Road, Chilliwack, BC   V2P 1A5, up to 2:00 PM (local time) on Wednesday, March 08, 2023, at which time tender submissions will be opened in private.  Late submissions will not be accepted and will be returned to the bidder unopened.

SU24TBJ001:

Silviculture Surveys- Totalling 380.5ha on 22 openings (8 Regen Stocking Surveys & 14 Free to Grow Surveys). All openings are in various locations within the Haida Gwaii Forest District. 

Field work is expected to take place early August with final contract deliverables expected for January 2024. 

Bidders must meet the Ministry’s requirements for experience and qualifications set out in the Tender Documents. See All Schedules & Appendices for specific works required.

Deadline for receiving questions is 2:00 pm on February 28, 2023.  If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by March 01 , 2023.
    
Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package.

The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. 

Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations. As a condition of finalizing any service contracts with the Province, including service contracts arising from procurement processes, those contracts will require that all contractors and their personnel and any subcontractors and their personnel who will access BC government workplaces be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Canada, subject to any authorized exemptions. Such contracts will contain associated provisions required by and satisfactory to the Province regarding the foregoing, which may include provisions regarding mitigation measures for exempt personnel, compliance, enforcement, and the use of an attestation certifying compliance or presentation of a BC Vaccine Card by personnel.

Unverified bid results will be posted to BC Bid after tender opening and once awarded the contract award results will be available on BC Bid.
