Description
Overview of the Work/Service Required
The objective of this project is to survey fuel breaks (FBs) that have had fuel management treatments accomplished. Most of the FBs will require a Fuel Management Survey and a Stocking Survey.
Fuel management surveys will be conducted for adherence to the Fuel Management Prescription (FMP). Where fuel loads exceed the FMP targets, further data must be collected, and a treatment recommendation will be required.
Stocking surveys will be conducted for adherence to the Wildfire Risk Reduction (WRR) stocking standards. Where stocking levels do not meet the standards, a treatment recommendation will be required. In addition, the stocking surveys will provide a forest cover label (inventory and silviculture) for reporting to RESULTS,
The successful bidder will be required to report the survey activities and forest cover to RESULTS.
The FBs are scattered throughout the 100 Mile House Natural Resource District. They are interface FBs and are located adjacent to private land and/ or infrastructure. Access to the FBs will typically be off main roads and should be reasonably accessible via 4x4 truck. Although, some units may require an ATV for access (i.e., Deka- Higgins FB).
