The proposed contract requires the planting of approximately 345,067 estimated BCTS seedlings and 102,600 fertilizer packs in the Robson Valley. The openings that are to be planted can be found throughout the BCTS Prince George Business Area. The summer plant must be completed by July 31st, 2023.
Sealed tenders for the following PL24TGC007 – Summer Tree Planting in the Robson Valley Contract will be received by the Timber Sales Manager, BC Timber Sales, Prince George Business Area, 2000 South Ospika Boulevard, Prince George, BC, V2N 4W5, up to 10:00 am (local time) on December 8, 2022, at which time tender submissions will be opened in private. Late submissions will not be accepted and will be returned to the bidder unopened.
Questions & Answers
All contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.PrinceGeorgeTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca.
Deadline for receiving questions is 4:30 pm on November 29, 2022.
If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by December 1, 2022.
Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package.
The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
This Solicitation is using the BCTS Planting Contractor Rating System to evaluate tenders. Please see the ‘Information to Bidders’ for Tendering Process and ‘Frequently Asked Questions and BCTS-Planting Contracting Rating Form’ documents for information on the Rating System.
Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations. These documents are posted on our external EMS/SFM website at BC Timber Sales - Business Area Environmental Management System (EMS) and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) - Province of British Columbia (https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/forestry/bc-timber-sales/forest-certification/ems-sfm). More information on SFI available at www.forests.org.
As a condition of finalizing any service contracts with the Province, including service contracts arising from procurement processes, those contracts will require that all contractors and their personnel and any subcontractors and their personnel who will access BC government workplaces be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Canada, subject to any authorized exemptions. Such contracts will contain associated provisions required by and satisfactory to the Province regarding the foregoing, which may include provisions regarding mitigation measures for exempt personnel, compliance, enforcement, and the use of an attestation certifying compliance or presentation of a BC Vaccine Card by personnel.
Unverified bid results will be posted to BC Bid after tender opening and once awarded the contract award results will be available on BC Bid.
