Overview
The purpose of this agreement is twofold. The first section involves the repair of the East Twin Forest Service Road (FSR) to approximately 20 metres up chain of the first bridge which will include building a ford, ditching, and installing cross drains to manage water. The second section involves the deactivation of the remainder of the forest service road to 7.8km. This will include removal of major structures, installing cross ditches, pull backs and minimizing impacts of sediment transport according to the prescription.
Site Conditions
The East Twin FSR is located approximately 25km northwest of the village of McBride. Access to the East Twin FSR project site is available anytime by ATV. Project site starts at 0km and spans approximately 7.8km. The road follows adjacent to the East Twin Creek, which the road crosses in several locations. Please be aware that the bridges on the prescription past 1km are all rated for 0 Tonnes. The farthest bridge at 7.5km is unsafe for ANY vehicle crossing and should only be cautiously traversed on foot.
Contractor Safety Program and Prime Contractor Responsibilities
The Successful Bidder will be designated the Prime Contractor for this contract and must bid accordingly and meet the bidder eligibility stated in the Conditions of Tender.
The successful Contractor must plan to maintain and implement a program of systems or processes (a safety program) that will address occupational health and safety concerns and practices that will eliminate or minimize risk of injuries. The Province may ask to examine the safety program and ask for evidence to support the implementation of same as part of the contract administration.
Bidders must be aware of the Safety Conditions Schedule and the Prime Contractor Agreement attached to the contract agreement.
