Description
This contract is for the upgrade of approximately 8.786 km of forest service roads/spurs, new construction of approximately 0.917 km of road, and installation of: one 18.2m portable bridge, one 24.4m portable bridge, one 33000mm CMP, two 2200mm CMP’s and one 1800mm CMP (see Schedule C and Appendix 1 for list of detailed project activities).
The Cous project work is located near known Goshawk nesting territory and must be completed within auditory timing widows.
The structures must be installed during timing windows for fish and low flows.
It is expected that some key works will be completed in fall/early winter of 2022 and the remainder in the late summer of 2023.

All contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.StraitofGeorgiaTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca. Deadline for receiving questions is 4:30 pm on November 22, 2022. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by November 24, 2022.
Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package.
The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations. These documents are posted on our external EMS/SFM website at BC Timber Sales - Business Area Environmental Management System (EMS) and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) - Province of British Columbia (https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/forestry/bc-timber-sales/forest-certification/ems-sfm). More information on SFI available at www.forests.org.
As a condition of finalizing any service contracts with the Province, including service contracts arising from procurement processes, those contracts will require that all contractors and their personnel and any subcontractors and their personnel who will access BC government workplaces be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Canada, subject to any authorized exemptions. Such contracts will contain associated provisions required by and satisfactory to the Province regarding the foregoing, which may include provisions regarding mitigation measures for exempt personnel, compliance, enforcement, and the use of an attestation certifying compliance or presentation of a BC Vaccine Card by personnel.
Unverified bid results will be posted to BC Bid after tender opening and once awarded the contract award results will be available on BC Bid.
