Description
The City of North Vancouver (City) is requesting responses to this Request for Proposal for herbicide treatment and monitoring for Noxious Weeds, as identified in the BC Weed Control Act. The program is part of the City’s Invasive Plant Management Strategy, which aims to reduce the density and distribution of Noxious Weeds on public lands. Treatment will include three types of Noxious Weeds that have been identified in the City of North Vancouver: knotweed species, giant hogweed and yellow flag iris. The City is seeking qualified contractors with experience in invasive species management and the ability to provide herbicide treatment on City owned lands, use GIS data management, and provide reporting and planning. Contractors must have a valid Pesticide Use License and adhere to the BC Ministry of Environment Requirements. Treatment must follow the Metro Vancouver Best Management Practices for giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum), knotweed species (Fallopia sp. and Polygonum polystachyum) and confirm presence and treat yellow flag iris (Iris pseudacorus) species as required.
