NOTICE OF INTENT TO PURCHASE: Single Axel Dump Truck

Pursuant to the District of Tofino Purchasing and Disposition of Assets Policy, notice is hereby given that the District of Tofino intends to purchase direct from Falcon Equipment Ltd, of Nanaimo, a new single axel dump truck with a diesel 350HP engine, 11 ft dump body with center coal shoot door, scissor hoist, cab shield, 9.5 ft v-plow on front. The vehicle will be available for October 2023, FOB Nanaimo BC, in time for the winter season, which is a necessary requirement. The District previously used a third party procurement process with no results, and due the lack of availability of comparable new vehicles on the market, the District is resorting to a notice of intent to satisfy their requirements. As the value of this particular contract is estimated to be approximately $155,000, and over the NWPTA trade agreement threshold, this notification is required under NWPTA for single/sole supplier procurement.
