Description
BC Wildfire Service (“BCWS”) of the Ministry of Forests is seeking Proposals from Proponents to supply, install and, at the end of the term of the Contract, decommission and remove temporary office trailers and a storage trailer. The trailers will be in Kamloops, British Columbia at 4000 Airport Road and are required to be ready for occupancy by June 30, 2023, or sooner. Due to an uptake of additional fire fighters, there is a need for more space for the wildland fire crew personnel in the Kamloops Fire Zone to ensure they have adequate office space to conduct their administrative duties and store their gear. Therefore, the Province is looking to rent the temporary trailers to provide office space and storage for approximately twenty-eight (28) wildland fire crew. The Province is also interested in and Option to potentially purchasing the rental trailers as an option under the Contract.
The types of trailers that Province is seeking to rent are modular trailers that are unfurnished, and no plumbing is required but the trailers are required to be outfitted for electrical and include air-conditioning units and baseboard heating, as set out in section 3.3. See Appendix 1 for Site Map & Trailer Layout location information and Appendix 2 for an example of the Trailer Drawing.
The Province is seeking a total of 4 trailers, composed of:
If Proponents have more than one trailer combination to propose, then in accordance with section 2.26, Proponents should submit alternate Proposals for each proposed option. The Province intends to enter into a contract with the highest scoring Proponent who meets all mandatory criteria.
The anticipated term of the Contract is from June 30, 2023, to March 31, 2024. This Agreement may be extended for two (2) one-year terms by written agreement of the parties. For clarity, the Province may, in its sole discretion, decide not to extend this Agreement . Should the option to extend be exercised it is expected that the Contractor’s rate or price in the preceding term will remain unchanged in the subsequent term, unless, in the Province’s sole opinion, a negotiated rate change is warranted for the Services.

- For the office space: a triple (3) wide trailer complex of a minimum thirty feet by fifty feet (30 ft x 50 ft) to a maximum of thirty-six feet by sixty feet (36 ft x 60 ft), with two of the three trailers in the complex being open concept to ensure enough space in each to accommodate meetings for approximately twenty to thirty (20-30) staff, and one module is required to be separated for private office space, (see Appendix 2 for Trailer Drawing); and
- The storage trailer: a separate single (1) wide trailer of twelve feet by sixty feet (12 ft x 60 ft).
