Amendment 3 2023-05-11
Questions and Answers:
Q1 Is there a depth at which the French Drain is to be installed? A1 The French drain should be 2-ft wide by 2-ft deep. The perforated pipe needs to slope down towards the existing culvert at a minimum grade of 0.3 percent (as per engineer). Q2 Can you answer anything about material/soil leaving or being re-used on the site? Specifically, what would be expected from a contractor? A2 We would expect the contractor to haul away any excess soil unless they request and get permission from the School District to leave it onsite and blend it in with the existing fill slope. Native soil could be used for landscaping. Granular fill (sand or 3/4-inch max size gravel) is recommended around the tanks, and pipes to protect the pipes and tanks and minimize the probability of pipe settlement. Note: Bidders must eliminate the in-ground air pump change and instead install the air pumps inside the school building in the mechanical room.
