Providence Health Care intends to execute a contract with Chernoff Thompson Architects (including sub consulting firms) to provide updated massing studies and program test fits for the Clinical Support Building and Research Centre as part of the New St. Paul’s Hospital and Health Campus redevelopment project.
The anticipated value of this contract will be $175,000.00 excluding tax. Providence Health Care has chosen not to complete a Request for Proposal (RFP) process but negotiate the contemplated contract for the following reasons:

Providence Health Care intends to execute a contract with Chernoff Thompson Architects (including sub consulting firms) to provide updated massing studies and program test fits for the Clinical Support Building and Research Centre as part of the New St. Paul’s Hospital and Health Campus redevelopment project.
The anticipated value of this contract will be $175,000.00 excluding tax. Providence Health Care has chosen not to complete a Request for Proposal (RFP) process but negotiate the contemplated contract for the following reasons:
- Chernoff Thompson Architects has completed previous massing studies for the site. It is critical that the project maintains continuity from pre-existing work to date with internal and external stakeholders.
- The incumbent consultant has strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of the planning to date on the project, including a strong understanding of the functional requirements, site constraints and master plan for the New St. Paul’s Hospital and Health Campus redevelopment project.
- Chernoff Thompson Architects and its sub consulting firms are able to deliver on the work outputs by March 1, 2023.
- Comprehensive Commercial General Liability insurance coverage in an amount not less than $2,000,000.00 inclusive per occurrence against bodily injury, personal injury and property damage
- Chernoff Thompson Architects maintains professional liability insurance coverage
