36160 Auguston Parkway South - Slope Stabilization

Description
The City is seeking proposals from experienced and qualified Contractors for the provision of grading, rock armoring and final retoration for bank stabilization at 36160 Auguston Parkway South, Abbotsford, BC.
A slide is located on the south side of Auguston Parkway and east of 36152 and 36160 Auguston Parkway and initiated at top of an existing ravine along the slopes that flank the south edge of the Auguston Residential Development. The slide initiated as a smaller slough in November 2021 following an unprecedented series of atmospheric river events. In the following weeks and months, in late 2021 and early 2022, the sloughs expanded into a large slide that encompasses a plan area of about 400 sq.m. with a vertical height of about 15m. Based on site observations to date, the failure has not yet extended further. If left unsupported and unprotected, the exposed over-steepened upper portion of the soil slope will likely continue to slough and retrogress and is to be repaired as soon as possible.
The RFP is being issued electronically through Bonfire (a Procurement Portal utilized by the City of Abbotsford for document distribution and collection) where any interested party may download the tender documents directly. Bonfire notifies all document takers by email of all addenda or other communications issued by the City.
