RFP #22.0145 Insurance and Risk Management Services

RFX documents should be obtained from the Bonfire portal at https://strathcona.bonfirehub.ca. This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by Strathcona County (the “County”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Insurance and Risk Management Services, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”). The County is seeking proposals from qualified firms for the provision of insurance, claims and risk management services, including a complete property and liability (casualty) insurance program along with claim adjusting services for the County. The selected proponent will also provide similar services for certain County employed professionals, independent contractors and community groups as listed in Schedule of Insured (Attachment 9). The Deliverables require the selected proponent to be familiar with a wide range of municipal insurance solutions, alternative risk financing and risk management approaches specific to the public sector. The selected proponent will be responsible for assisting the County with insurance coverage, policy wording interpretation and additional risk management services including, but not limited to, loss prevention and control techniques. From time to time the selected proponent may be asked to aid the County in sourcing other outside consultants in specialized fields relating to risk management. If the selected proponent is an insurance brokerage firm, it must be licensed in Alberta as an insurance broker by and in good standing with the Alberta Insurance Council (the “AIC”) during the term of the agreement. If the selected proponent will utilize an insurance brokerage firm to provide the Deliverables, that firm must also be licensed in Alberta as an insurance broker by and in good standing with the AIC during the term of the agreement. In the performance of Deliverables, the selected proponent must utilize insurance companies and/or reciprocal insurance exchanges that are licensed with the Alberta Office of the Superintendent of Insurance to operate in Alberta and have demonstrated financial stability and longevity insuring municipal risks.
