Description
Project Background - Alberta Forestry and Parks (FP) is involved the development of Environment and Protected Area (EPA)’s Subregional Plans, which are intended to manage land use for the benefit of a range of values including economic, social and environment including caribou populations as outlined in the Government of Canada’s Recovery Strategies. Two subregional plans are complete, two subregional plans are underway, and it is estimated that there is an additional two years of involvement is needed before completion of the remaining plans.
One means of providing support to EPA is through policy interpretation and forest management direction from both senior leadership and from subject matter experts. FP analysts rely on a variety of data when preparing analysis related to briefing materials and action requests. Prior to performing analysis, this data often needs processing of some form.
FP is looking to improve response time by having the proponent pre-process data for FP analysts. FP may also require that additional support for document creation be provided.
This work will be requested as needed, and there may be periods of time where requests are not made of the proponent. The work must be tailored to briefing materials being produced. The proponent will be provided with detailed requests on the work needed to be completed and the timelines.
