Description
The intent of this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is to solicit and receive formal offers from
prospective Proponents for the provision of construction management services for the Canmore Nordic Centre – Construction Management of Site Upgrades (“Project”).
1.2.1 Review, investigate and document Site conditions and the status of all scopes of work completed to date, to confirm the scope of work remaining to bring the project to completion.
1.2.2 Inspect and inventory all products and materials left on Site, and in off-site storage areas, including locations at the Canmore Nordic Centre, Town of Canmore, Bow Valley, and the City of Calgary.
a) Following completion of inventory, arrange and schedule transportation of all off-site
materials to Site. Transportation includes all loading, shipping, unloading and any
services, equipment or materials required to bring the materials to Site to be incorporated
into the Work.
1.2.3 The Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park is a multi-sport facility, and is both an internationally licensed Nordic facility that hosts World Cup Cross Country Skiing and Biathlon events, and a year-round venue for local andinternational visitors for skiing, training, mountain biking, running, disc golf, business conferences/meetings, local events, weddings, and more. Work will need to be scheduled to minimize impact to operations and public-use, and may include some evening and weekend work in order to complete Work activities when spaces are unoccupied Current schedule is included Schedule E – Additional Information, but is subject to be revised as more events are scheduled.
1.2.4 The Project is for the construction and completion of various new, and partially completed upgrades to the site. The upgrades are broken down into various locations on the Site along with high level descriptions of the work at each location, as follows:
a) Biathlon Building:
i. The building is ~90% complete and shall be completed by the Preferred
Proponent.
ii. General outstanding building components include, but are not limited to: flooring, wall tile, painting, doors, hardware and access control, security system, kitchen equipment, mechanical and electrical (M&E) commissioning, exterior finishes, roofing, handrails, landscaping, parking lot and sidewalks.
b) Biathlon Stadium:
i. Rough grading, final grading, and landscaping.
ii. Removal and repaving of asphalt surfaces.
iii. Site lighting relocations and upgrades.
iv. Upgrading underground electrical including transformer relocation and replacement, and installing underground conduits for future use.
v. Construction of a new storage shed and concrete foundation.
vi. Rebuilding of Coaches’ rail and firing line with concrete retaining walls, asphalt roller-ski path, wooden coaches’ rail, lighting, and power.
vii. Installing new underground concrete tunnel and three access stairways.
viii. Relocation of underground snow making infrastructure consisting of pressurized
steel pipes (50mm – 150mm diameter) and hydrants for air and water, electrical lines, and above ground pedestals.
c) Salt Lake Hill Roller Ski Trail:
i. Final grading adjustments and asphalt paving of rough-graded roller ski pathway.
d) Snow Storage #1:
i. Installation of new underground 60A electrical and connection of transformer on-site to existing electrical pedestal nearby.
ii. Relocation of underground air and water lines for snow making at two locations.
e) Cross Country Stadium:
i. Installation of underground French drain system and storm lines for stadium drainage.
f) Day Lodge:
i. Construction of new 2nd floor deck for the VIP Room.

Durée du contrat
La durée estimée du contrat sera de 24 mois, avec une date de début proposée du 2024/09/23.
