Description
The intent of this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is to solicit Proposals from qualified construction firms/contractors for the design & construction (renovation) of the following project (the “Project”):
Demolition and removal of existing interior washrooms, office, and entrance of the Community Centre building. Coordination of design completion and coordination of the construction to complete the renovation and all required trades for the interior renovation.
Scope of work (design details):
1. Interior demolition and rubble removal.
2. Complete design & renovation of men’s and ladies washroom, (existing layout not required, but extensive plumbing changes could put budget out of scope.)
3. Fully accessible washrooms / partition wall entrance (no doors into washrooms). Barrier free stalls, standards stalls and screened urinals in men’s washroom. The water line is 1.5 inch and there are no plans for an upgrade.
4. Complete design & renovation of the entrance, flooring, walls, office space. (seating potentially some bench seating or proposed alternative) (recognition wall – display space with wall system for hanging items, ex: magnetic insert or proposed alternative)
5. Replace drop ceiling and lighting. (or propose alternative within design)
6. 2 locked storage closets (1 in each washroom – for supplies).
7. New flooring in washroom (vinyl plank, etc.), entry, entry area with seating. (includes but not limited to: floor cutting, patching and leveling for tile work if required, proposed finishes should all be included within the RFP and pricing limits noted). (Please note on a separate line item the flooring installation down the hallway and into the meeting room. This may be an added item to the project if budget allows)
8. Change table in each washroom.
9. All required soap, towel, and toilet paper dispensers.
10. Code review (HVAC upgrades).
11. Prefer wall mounted toilet if budget allows (please ensure it is noted toilet design and cost as a separate line item).
12. Community Centre hall occupancy capacity is 350.
Design details:
The Town of Claresholm has no preferred finishes selected, however ideally function and aesthetics will align with economic value. Commercial laminate or something similar may work within the space that is easy to clean and good in wet conditions. T-bar ceilings work well within the buildings and allow ease for maintenance. Anything proposed should be economical, easy to clean, and yet aesthetically pleasing.
No color schemes have been picked. Coordinated color scheme to be presented and generally more neutral for longevity is preferred.
