City of Edmonton - Pre-qualification Request - 935401 - Prequalification of Prime Contractors for Long Term Neighbourhood/Streetscape Projects

The City of Edmonton is inviting Participants to submit responses for the Prequalification of Prime Contractors for Long Term Neighbourhood/Streetscape Projects. The Prequalification is the first step of a 2 step process the City is using to find qualified and capable participants for Neighbourhood/Alley Renewal and Streetscape Renewal Construction projects which shall include the removal and replacement of sidewalk, curb and gutter (separate and monolithic structures), lane crossings, curb crossings, roadway milling, road base reconstruction, asphaltic concrete resurfacing, catch basin realignment and manhole adjustment, topsoil, sod, landscaping, low impact development features, streetlighting, streetscape features and related work on developed streets, according to the referenced plans, profiles, sections and details. The scope of work may also include improvements to open spaces (eg. pathways, planting beds, plazas, soft landscaping, etc.) as outlined in the referenced plans. The City intends to issue Invitations to Tender to the prequalified participants, in the second step, in order to select general contractors for some of the City’s multi-year projects starting in the 2024 construction season, using the Design Bid Build project delivery model and the City’s standard Design-Bid-Build contract (modified as needed for each particular project). The City may issue up to five (5) Covered Sourcing Events, if the capital budgets for the relevant projects are approved during the Prequalification Validity Period. The projected completion for these projects ranges from 2025 to 2027, depending upon the project. Only prequalified Participants will receive further notices of procurements covered by this RFQ. The City requests that participants submit their response to this Sourcing Event preferably 25 but at least 14 calendar days before the City issues a Covered Sourcing Event in which the new participant is interested.
