    Description
    Situated in Coquitlam, Product Distribution Centre (PDC) is part of the Ministry of Citizen Services British Columbia. PDC is a Health Canada licensed full-service inventory management and distribution facility established by the BC Government for use by government ministries, crown corporations, government-funded organizations, and federal and municipal governments.  PDC purchases products on behalf of government and distributes to programs within government and the described organizations.

    Our client (s), BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), formerly the Emergency and Health Services Commission (EHSC), is supported by the Provincial Health Services Authority. BCEHS continues with the mandate of providing provincial ambulance and emergency health services under the Emergency and Health Services Amendment Act, 2013.

    BCEHS serves over 4.4 million British Columbians and responds to calls for emergency 911 and inter-facility transfer services across six regional health authorities, covering 944,700 square kilometers. In 2013/14, BCEHS responded to more than 515,000 events throughout the province – 425,000 pre-hospital (911) events, and 90,000 inter-facility transfers.

    BCEHS provides a province –wide service and employs more than 4300 uniformed employees. These employees range from frontline paramedics and dispatchers supporting air and ground ambulances to staff handling inter-facility transfers of patients. BCEHS operates from 184 ambulance stations, five administration offices, and three dispatch centres. There is an accompanying fleet of 577 vehicles, including 510 ambulances and 67 support vehicles and dedicated ambulance aircraft.

    The Ministry of Children and Family assists Parents and Caregivers of medically fragile children 0-18yrs with some of the extraordinary costs of caring for a child with severe disabilities, living at home, through a range of health supports and services. All children on this program meet at least 3 out of 4 dependencies for daily life (eating, washing, toileting, dressing.) All products for children on this program are highly customized to the individual. Pricing for nutritional supplements as well as incontinence products is constantly under review. Total active clients on this program serviced in fiscal 2018 was 2,215.
       

    The Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction provides grants and support for health supplements, medical supplies, medical equipment, and devices for medically fragile citizens of BC who are receiving income support through the Ministry. The program also supports most At Home Clients serviced by MCF who age out of the At Home Program who meet the HAB eligibility criteria. 6,983 clients were actively being serviced by PDC at the end of fiscal 2018.

    Notice is hereby given that the Province of British Columbia, as represented by the Ministry of Citizens’ Services, Product Distribution Centre is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Cardinal Health (the “Supplier”).
