MAGIC LAKE ESTATES WASTEWATER PUMP STATION AND TREATMENT PLANT UPGRADES
INVITATION TO TENDER
Sealed Tenders, plainly marked on the envelope "Tender for ITT 2022-846 Magic Lake Estates Wastewater Pump Station and Treatment Plant Upgrades" will be received by the Purchaser, Integrated Water Services of the Capital Regional District at their offices at Integrated Water Services, 479 Island Highway, Victoria, British Columbia up to 2:00 PM local time on March 14, 2023, at which time they will be opened in private.
The works to be constructed under this Contract generally include, but is not limited to, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical upgrades to Schooner Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and six pump stations located throughout Magic Lake Estates on Pender Island. The breakdown of the work is as follows:
Part A – Schooner Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
The new works will generally include:
- Underground reinforced concrete tanks
- Installation of Owner supplied equipment:
- Fine screen system
- Membrane and permeate pump system
- Blowers
- Aeration diffusers
- Standby generator
- Construction of an 8m x 11m wood-frame building complete with an electrical, blower, office and pump rooms
- Yard and process piping
- Instrumentation and control system
- New electrical service and distribution, and
- Demolition of some sheds and conversion of some process tanks to storage tanks
A new pump station is to be installed to replace the existing Cannon WWTP generally a new wet well, pumps and associated mechanical and electrical equipment.
Parts C to G – Buccaneer, Capstan, Galleon, Masthead, and Schooner Pump Stations
All of the existing pump station are to receive new pumps and associated mechanical work and new electrical kiosks. In addition, Owner supplied generators are to be installed at Galleon and Schooner pump stations.
Provisional Items
The following provisional items may be included in the Work, subject to available funding:
- A new sludge dewatering system, reclaimed water system and carport structure at Schooner WWTP.
- New submersible pumps and electrical kiosk at Cutlass Pump Station

Vendors are encouraged to check BC Bid regularly for updates and not rely on e-mail notifications, as e-mail is inherently unreliable and subject to interruptions.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
A non-mandatory pre-tender site meeting will be held at 27126 Schooner Way, Pender Island, at 09:30 am, February 2, 2023. Tenderers are strongly recommended to visit the site to ensure that they have satisfied themselves of everything and of every condition that could affect the execution of the work. Tenderers are encouraged to make enquiries to satisfy themselves of the work requirements.
