Description
BC Transit is issuing this Negotiated Request for Proposals (NRFP) to invite all interested, qualified vendors to provide a response outlining an on-demand transit software, hardware, implementation, training and maintenance & support. The purpose of this NRFP is to examine the benefits of an on-demand transit application by way of Proof of Concept (POC) in the Crawford region of Kelowna in early 2024, with a plan to add more communities in future years/phases.
BC Transit sees opportunity in providing an alternative to its conventional fixed route service by developing an on-demand option that can benefit customers by improving the transit experience in eligible locations. The goal of POC for the On-Demand Transit Application is to develop a scalable technology and service that can quickly and easily be implemented in additional areas within the province. Upon completion of the POC, BC Transit reserves the right to award additional services to other BC Transit Systems throughout the province under NRFP 23.046. The expansion of services beyond the POC will be at BC Transit’s sole discretion.
