Town of Devon Playgrounds RFP

The Town of Devon is inviting proponents to submit a proposal to upgrade or recondition two (2) playgrounds. Pipeline Park West playground is located at 15 Erie St. South. This playground is next to a residential roadway and walking path. It is also located on top of several active pipelines so this will have to be considered within the proposal as there are limits to what can be added structurally. Highwood playground is located behind 1328 Oakland Crescent. This playground is settled in a park backing residences on both sides with a walking path for access. Recent inspection forms are provided in schedule “A”, maps of underground utilities to consider are provided in “schedule B” as well as site photos “schedule C”. Scope of Work The scope of work includes upgrades to both playgrounds with a limited budget. Pipeline Park has a budget of $10,000, Highwood Park has a budget of $15,000. The Town of Devon is seeking proposals to either add park components, upgrade current structures, or enhance the play surfaces. Contractors will be responsible for the supply & cost of all material and include costs for labour. Specifications The Town of Devon is seeking an experienced playground contractor who can provide a proposal for playground improvement within the scope of the budget. Upgrades should reflect community values which include connecting people and nature, fostering active living, increasing inclusion and access, and safety. All work must be completed to CAN/CSA-Z614:20 Children’s Play spaces and Equipment Standard.
