Kilgour & Associates Ltd., registered as a corporation in Ontario in 2008, offers ecological consulting services with skills in aquatic ecology, water quality, terrestrial ecology, ecological risk assessment, and ecological monitoring. We are actively working on projects across Canada from our offices in Ottawa and Sudbury, for the private sector (mining, oil and gas, hydro, land development) and government agencies. Typical projects include analyses of ecological constraints for emerging projects, municipal, provincial and federal environmental assessment for new projects, acquisition of environmental permits to support construction and operation of projects, approvals related to fish habitat, project interactions with species at risk, and environmental monitoring for ongoing projects. We routinely get involved in the support of construction projects through monitoring or the removal of fish and/or wildlife from construction sites. We have worked extensively with government agencies developing ecological monitoring programs, and best management practices for mitigating construction impacts on fish and wildlife.
