Sustainable waste management in tropical regions
For this partnership, we are interested in the following: Developing a Life Cycle Inventory Database for Wastewater Treatment in Africa: Using Machine Learning and Remote Sensing to Gather Data and Improve Accuracy. Assessing the Environmental and Economic Performance of Different Wastewater Treatment Technologies in Africa: A Comparative Life Cycle Assessment Using GIS and Sensitivity Analysis. Integrating Social LCA in the Life Cycle Assessment of Wastewater Treatment in Africa: A Framework for Stakeholder Engagement and Impact Assessment. Developing a Knowledge-Based System for Life Cycle Assessment of Wastewater Treatment in Africa: An Ontology-Driven Approach for Data Integration and Decision-Making. Analyzing the Impact of Climate Change on Wastewater Treatment Systems in Africa: A Life Cycle Assessment and Scenario-Based Analysis Using Climate Data and Modeling Tools. Overall, the activities of the Biogas Research Team and waste management research is driven by a combination of technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and social and behavioural factors. As waste management becomes an increasingly pressing issue in many parts of the world, there will likely be growing investment in research and innovation in this area.
