Cape Canso Consulting was registered in the province of Nova Scotia in 2020. It is a sole proprietorship with a plan to incorporate this coming year. Melinda Cole is the founder and sole owner of Cape Canso Consulting. Her background is both chemical and environmental science based. After graduation of a Bachelor of Science degree program where she majored in chemistry. Melinda began her career in 2005 with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. She spent several years working in a trace organic hydrocarbon chemistry laboratory in the Centre for offshore oil and gas environmental research division analyzing hydrocarbons in production water, oil remediation parameters and fish toxicity. Although at times switching her focus from environmental contaminants to commercial fish stock assessment indicators. Melinda has spent much of her career working as a natural scientist for industry. Her chemical background coupled with her knowledge of environmental Acts and legislation gives Cape Canso Consulting the capabilities to perform on a national level adding much needed environmental expertise to our economic development portfolio in Guysborough County.
