Founded by Nuu-Chah-Nulth Nation member Cheri Smith. Alternative Contracting Ltd. is able to supply fully equipped crews to facilitate any contract for distribution and transmission work. With a strong network, we can effectively draw upon additional resources to meet greater demands on large jobs. Alternative Contracting Ltd. and our key subcontractor partners offer a full range of services including: - Construction, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of electric generation equipment, all high voltage transformation and protection equipment, and all overhead and underground power lines - Project planning and management - Engineering and design or heavy civil construction - Procurement and contract management - Environmental Protection Planning and Management - Geotechnical evaluation and support during site selection and design - Site preparation functions including vegetation and land clearing, access roads and bridges, and other earthwork capabilities
