LADR is a 27+ years established full service firm with a passion for design and placemaking. We work with all sectors: private, government, not-for-profit and First Nations. We are known for our collaborative approach, creativity and high quality design, and our contributions to livable, resilient, attractive and ecologically integral communities. We are the project landscape architects for all public lands and 'green' stormwater management on the 43ha master-planned Royal Bay seaside community (Colwood, BC), for the Te'tuxwtun new community masterplan (Nanaimo, BC), for the design and development of Alert Bay's community plaza, BC, and for the new Royal Roads University Langford campus in Langford (among other projects). Completed projects include Ship Point Plaza, a multi-functional gathering space that commemorates the Canadian Navy's Centennial and overlooks Victoria's inner harbour, Victoria's Government/Pandora intersection plaza that celebrates the original entrance to Canada's oldest Chinatown, and the seaside inspired Haro streetscape and plaza development in Saanich, BC. Our involvement in all the above projects, and most of the work we do, included preparation of schematic, concept, design and construction drawings and specifications, installation review and administration, community engagement, presentations to advisory committees, councils and the general public. Principal Bev Windjack is LEED certified and an Alberta registered Landscape Architect.
