Description:
The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for prospective Proponents to submit Proposals for the Supply and Install of a Mass Spectrometer for High Resolution Analysis of Small Molecules, as further described herein.

The requested instrument is a mass spectrometer that is capable of high-resolution mass analysis. The ront end ionization and mass analyzer will be suitable and optimal for accurate mass analysis of a variety of small molecules. The types of small molecules will range from organic compounds that contain a variety of heteroatoms and functional groups, to air- and moisture-sensitive inorganic molecules with various types of main group and transition metal elements, to larger biomolecules that are peptides or oligonucleotides. The mass spectrometer will be used to analyze a large quantity of samples since researchers will require data for final target molecules, and also all intermediates toward these targets. The instrument will be housed within the Mass Spectrometry Facility in the Department of Chemistry, which already accommodates three other mass spectrometers. The requested instrument will replace older/obsolete instruments and enable reliable and consistent data acquisition for many research groups.
The instrument should have the capability for manual injections or via a syringe pump or be connected to a more robust LC separation for sample mixtures
