Notice is hereby given by the Corporation of the City of Vernon (“the City”) of its intent to award a purchase order to Alumichem Canada Inc. (the “Vendor”), to provide the supply and delivery of desludging polymer.
The proposed purchase order will have a value of $131,040.00 (including taxes).
The City did not call for Quotes for the following reasons:
In 2016 The City executed an extensive 2-part solicitation process for desludging polymer which included product testing and a request for quote for procurement.
Alumichem Canada Inc. was the successful vendor in response to this opportunity and the City contracted with them for a multiyear supply agreement. The City has been utilizing the same polymer since then and is familiar with the product’s characteristics and performance.
The City is currently in works with building and commissioning a new High Rate Anaerobic Digestor (HRAD) system which will increase the City’s ability to process waste at the Vernon Water Reclamation Centre.
This system will have an impact on the amount of polymer that will be required to operate in conjunction with the HRAD and it will take time to finalize the results. As such, the City will continue to use the same polymer it has been using to minimize the variables in the final commissioning and ongoing operation of the new system.
It is the City’s intent to go out to market with an opportunity to all potential suppliers of polymer once the HRAD system is stabilized and fully functional.
OBJECTIONS
Vendors wishing to object to this decision should submit via email the reasons for their objection to the Contact Person listed below, on or before the Closing Date. City of Vernon decisions in this regard will be final.
