2023 Weed Control on Forestry Trunk Road AG-2023-01

Greenview is seeking a weed spraying company with experience working in remote rural locations with challenging terrain. Greenview is looking for a company to complete the following: • Limited to 33% of the 172 km length of the Forestry Trunk Road, both east and west right-of-way, south of Highway 43 to Highway 40. This is for the control of regulated noxious and eradication of prohibited noxious weeds on a 3-year rotation. Identified species include tall buttercup, scentless chamomile, Canada thistle, and hawkweed complex. Control work must be completed with a systemic, residual herbicide with the referenced species on label to control for 24 months or more. • The Right-Of-Way can be quite rough and steep in areas and will require applicators with a high level of experience. A listing of available equipment for the work including nozzle distances, tank capacity, hose length, rates per piece of equipment, anticipated length of time for completion • Greenview may have access to water fill points, along the length of the road, reducing necessity to travel to refill. • Greenview will supply all herbicide required for the work. • Right-of-ways vary in width from 30 m to 90 m. Infestations vary from sporadic to dense patches, requiring spot application in some areas. • Ensure all efforts are taken and documented to minimize plant propagules spread to other parts of Greenview. • All work must be completed between May 1st- July 15th. • Successful Proponent must take on the responsibility of Prime/Main Contractor for the duration of this project. • Successful proponent must follow all requirements as stated in the Environmental Code of Practice for Pesticides.
