Town of Whitecourt - Request for Proposal - Community Fireguard Program

The Town of Whitecourt invites Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified consultants to provide contract services to support the project management of the Whitecourt East Community Fireguard Program. This will include creation of a Draft Fireguard Plan with consultation with the Wildfire Mitigation Branch. This project will also include the final fireguard construction plan with acceptance by the Wildfire Mitigation Branch which will include: maps, shape file, vegetation management plan along with a final outcomes report. Under this phase of the project some preliminary work, such as wildfire mitigation strategies and wildfire studies have already been conducted for our area. Additional work needed for this phase of the project will consist of planning, mapping permitting, preparing tendering documents for the next phase, regulatory approvals, ground truthing, quality control and stakeholder engagement, open houses, and advertising will be required. This project will ensure all approvals and any other requirements are in place for a shovel ready project for the next phase. The consultant shall also be familiar with FireSmart principles.
