Description
- One (1) 10' x 52' IG Frameless Site Office portable building (trailer), complete with washroom, kitchenette, and industrial aluminum landing and stairs, including sewage tank and water tank, installed at District of Summerland Sanitary Landfill.
The District has chosen not to compete this purchase for the following reasons:
- The unit in question has been rented by the District since early 2021;
- Staff have been directed to purchase the unit immediately and cease renting the unit effective for the 2024 budget; and
- As the unit is already installed at the Landfill, the District believes that another supplier would be unable to supply a similar or better unit at a lesser cost to the District (including any costs to remove the current trailer, install the new trailer, and staff time to coordinate the exchange), in a similar timeframe, i.e. immediately in January 2024.

The letter must outline the reasons for your objection and you must clearly demonstrate your ability to immediately provide an alternate available unit. These items will be the criterion used to determine whether the direct award will be competed.
A supplier’s proof of its ability to provide a similar or better unit at similar or lower prices within the same time frame will be the key criterion with regard to the consideration of objections to this Notice of Intent.
